Hello, I’m Susan Jensen Smith. I’m a marketing professional with solid digital experience. Yes, I’ve been in the trenches.
I have B.S. in Marketing from The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from Capital University. But my real education came from hands-on digital marketing experience. I connect traditional marketing with digital strategy. Creative, strategic, hands-on abilities, team player, quick study.

I began my digital marketing life in 1998, when I introduced online marketing strategies to businesses new to the Internet, created an ecommerce strategy for a dot com start up, and spearheaded a website redesign for a large credit union.
In 2002, I marketed a growing credit union using resourceful marketing strategies to compete with larger players in the market. I successfully re-branded the business, developed a new website, added new online services, and designed effective community PR projects.
In 2006, I developed a student loan product that could be sold through agencies for an Internet bank that serves independent insurance agents. As the economic climate for that product changed, I left to launch a small business in the interior design field. Utilizing various online and content marketing strategies, I gained hands-on experience from a business owner’s perspective, and used that knowledge to help other businesses extend their brands online. As part of that effort, I worked with an established B2B scanning company to launch a new B2C product that digitized children’s artwork.
I spent the last two years in NJ where I continued to run a successful blog and work with businesses to improve their digital strategies. Now I’m back in Connecticut and am excited to work with new clients.
And yes…I use Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Google+. Over time, I’ve learned what is effective and what is a time waster (it can be very addicting!).
So why am I telling you all this? Because I can do for you what I’ve done for myself. There are many self-proclaimed digital marketing and social media “experts” who can help you with the tactics online, but have never approached it from a strategic client perspective. I bring over 15 years marketing experience to the table to help ensure those tactics are indeed the right ones.
