Susan Jensen Smith

Hello, I’m Susan J. Smith.  I’ve worked in the marketing and ecommerce world for over 15 years .  I have a B.S. in Marketing from The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from Capital University. 

My career has been wide-ranging, both in terms of function and location. I began in Ohio managing private label credit programs for large retail clients. I moved to New Jersey where I cut my e-teeth promoting web hosting for AT&T, working with a dot com start up, and managing the eCommerce function for a large credit union.

In Indiana I marketed a growing credit union using resourceful marketing strategies to compete with larger players in the market. We successfully re-branded the business, developed a new web site, added new e-services, and designed effective community PR projects.

Now in Connecticut, I spent 2 years as VP, Banking Product Manager with an internet bank that serves independent insurance agents. As the financial market for those products changed, I left to try something new. I started a design business and extended the company online through blogging, social media and an online forum.

And yes…I use Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn consistently. Over time, I’ve learned what is effective and what is a time waster (it can be very addicting!).

So why am I telling you all this?  Because I can do for you what I’ve done for myself.  There are many self-proclaimed “social media” experts who can help you with the tactics online, but have never approached it from a strategic client perspective.  I bring over 15 years marketing experience to the table to help ensure those tactics are indeed the right ones.
